I started this business because I forgot about myself. I am a mother and a wife and was a teacher at one point. Doing all these things and having all these responsibilities, I forgot about myself as a person. I looked in the mirror one day, and the person that was looking back at me wasn't my reflection. I didn't even know who that person was; I couldn't describe them even if I wanted to. I love to travel. I loved to experience new places and things, but due to the pandemic at the time, my everyday responsibilities were impossible. My one easy escape was always finding a good book to read in a quiet place in my home and burning a candle that would take me to the place. So, I started burning candles on a regular basis to give my home that vacation smell, that exotic smell, that moment alone smell. 

OK, so small backstory; I suffer from migraines I have a very high sensitivity to scents.

 I started noticing more frequent migraines and a lot of minor headaches that would turn into major ones and then into migraines. My nose would burn. I would have nosebleeds on occasion, but I chalked it up to allergies and anything external except for what was right in front of me. I started with elimination, and it came down to the candles I was burning. I started looking into the products that were being used within the candles that would possibly cause irritation or that might be a trigger for me. What I found was incredibly alarming. The thing that I loved the most was causing me so much harm and pain that I couldn't do it anymore. But I still wanted to experience my vacation time at home, so I got up off my bum and I started looking into making my own candles.
